May Days

We seemed to have a lot go on this month and it's not over yet, so I thought I better catch up before I get too far behind.

At the beginning of the month we decided to take the boys fishing. We were just going to go to a pond out in Boulder City, but decided to make the trek across to town to go to Floyd Lamb State Park and I am glad we did. It is such a beautiful park and kind of makes you feel like your not in Vegas. Jakob had a blast catching fish and Mason enjoyed it for a little bit--I think he still a little too young, because he got impatient and decided chasing the geese was more fun! I met my friend Joanne there and we took the kids for a walk and went to see the peacocks, baby ducks and baby geese. It was a fun day and we look forward to going back again soon!
The Johnson family May Birthday Boys! We had our monthly FHE hosted by Johnny & Steph to celebrate Matt and Jakob's birthdays. Steph provided some yummy cakes for dessert, the adults chatted and the kids had tons of fun playing. It is always fun to get together with the family and now that we live in Henderson, our monthly FHE is usually the only time we see everyone, so I am grateful my mom insists on doing them.
We also celebrated Mother's Day with my mom that evening. She received some fun gifts from everyone and she deserved it. She is a wonderful mom and a great example to me. I love her tons and am very thankful to have her in my life!
Happy Mother's Day to me! Saturday night my hubby and kids took me out to dinner. Then on Sunday the kids gave me a Swiffer Wet Jet (don't worry-I wanted it!) and Wade gave me a giftcard to Lady Footlocker to buy some workout clothes (don't worry-I wanted that too!). After church Wade made a yummy dinner for us, packed his own lunch and headed off to work. Sunday's are kind of hard with his work schedule-so thanks for all you did for me and the lack of sleep you got because of it all-I appreciated everything and love you tons! I am so thankful for my kids and I love being a mom-even though it's the hardest job I've ever had!

Last but not least-I took Hannah to get her ears pierced! She doesn't look to happy about it in this picture, but it was the best one I could get that you could actually see the earrings. We went to Libby Lu's at the mall and the pierced both ears at the same time. She cried pretty hard for a few minutes then fell asleep and when she woke up she was back to her normal, happy little self-smiling at everyone she saw. Now she looks even more like the little princess that she is! Hopefully she won't be mad at me when she gets older for doing that to her!

Husband Tag!

I am kind of a boring person, so I really don't like doing these tag things because I feel like I never have anything interesting to say, but here you go...

1. What is his name? Steven Wade Heiselbetz, goes by Wade.
2. Who eats more? Wade does, he can down a couple of double-doubles from In-n-Out and not gain a pound, I just drive by and look at it and gain 5lbs., I don't get it!
3. Who said I love you first? I can't remember, but probably me-Wade was pretty shy!
4. Who is taller? Him-6'2".
5. Who is smarter? I think we are both pretty smart, but in very different areas, but Wade is definately always right!
6. Who is more sensitive? Me.
7. Who does the laundry? I do. Wade would probably love to help me out, but I have issues with what goes in the dryer and what doesn't, so I prefer to do it and I don't complain about it.
8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Him.
9. Who pays the bills? Him.
10. Who cooks more? Me, but when it comes to grilling-he's the master!
11. What do you like to cook together? I would have to say BBQ. Wade does the meat and I do the sides!
12. Who is more stubborn? We both are, but he would probably say that I am more than he is.
13. Who is first to admit they are wrong? Probably him, even when he knows he's right and I am wrong, just avoid an agrument.
14. Who is more clean? Me, but he definately helps out when I ask for it.
15. Who has more siblings? Him by 1, 2 brothers, 3 sisters. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister.
16. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Him.
17. What do you like to do together? Watch movies and tv shows (Idol, Lost, Big Brother, Survior), watch Dodger games, go on vacations (when we can afford to!), and play the Wii!

19. Guilty pleasures? Sports and Dr. Pepper.
20. How did you meet? We met up in Panaca (Wade's hometown) through my friend Melissa.
22. Who proposed? Wade did.
23. His best feature? His big strong arms that give me endless hugs, even when I am being a grump.
24. What is his greatest quality? He seems to know something about everything. He is very handy and can fix just about anything!

I tag Gerilyn, Lara and Meredith and anyone else who thinks this is a fun one and wants to do it!

Kindergarten Field Day!

Last week we got to go to Jakob's school for the Kindergarten Field Day! It was lots of fun to watch all the kindergartener's, they all seemed to feel so big and proud to be on the "Big Kids Playgroud" and excited to play games instead of being in the classroom! It brought back memories from when I was in elementary school, field day was one of my favorite days! Jakob had a great time and even Mason got to participate in most of the events!

She's Already Rolling!

Ready,
Set,
Roll!!!

The other day I was changing Hannah's diaper and getting her ready for the day and decided to give her a little "tummy time" before I got her dressed and she rolled over! Just another one of those little milestones that make you realize how fast time flies! It seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital and now she is 3 months old and smiling, laughing and rolling! Why do they have to grow so fast?

Where do I begin?

Wow-it has been a long and expensive week! Last week I went visiting teaching and came home to a grumpy hubby and a sad child. While Wade was trying to fix dinner and have it ready for when I got home, Mason got a hold of Jakob's Nintendo DS and decided to see how far the top screen could bend back and broke it. It hasn't been replaced yet, but that will be $130. Then, this past weekend my sister and I decided to do a babysitting trade, so Wade and I went out to dinner Friday night and when we got back the kids weren't ready to go, so we decided to hang out for a little while. My nephew Ben got a pretty cool basketball hoop game for his birthday in March. It was the kind that you shoot the balls and they roll back down and it keeps score. Anyway, Mason decided that he would climb into it so that he could make a basket and the whole thing toppled over, ripping the cords out of it and snapping the backboard in half-that is yet another $130. Then to put the icing on the cake, some friends of ours needed to borrow our truck over the weekend and left us with their car. I had to take it to church yesterday and when I got home I threw the keys in my diaper bag, "thought" I unlocked the doors, but actually locked them leaving my diaper bag, with the keys and our sweet little Hannah inside. Needless to say, we didn't want to risk waiting around for a pop-a-lock guy to come and having something happen to her, so Wade had to take a hammer to our friends' car window. So I spent the morning getting it repaired before they came back with our truck-that was $170. So in the past week Mason and I have managed to create $430.00 worth of damage. When it rains, it pours! I was talking to my sister about everything, she said, "Things always seem to come in three's." So hopefully this is the end of our bad luck streak!
