Good Job Jakob!

Last week Jakob came home with his report card from kindergarten. As most of you know they don't get actual grades, but rather just inform you if they are meeting the standard requirements or not. So I was looking through the report card and came to the end and there was a note from his teacher expressing how proud she was of how well he has been reading, then at the bottom of his teacher's note, there was a hand-written note from the principal asking Jakob to come to her office to read her a story! So this week he gets to go read to the principal! We are so proud of Jakob, even though it is just kindergarten, he really has been working hard to learn to read and write! We feel lucky to have such a wonderful teacher for Jakob and a principal who takes the time to recognize students on an individual basis! It really made Jakob feel special and it gave me an opportunity to talk with him about how working hard and doing good in school brings special rewards! So that night to celebrate we took him to his favorite place for dinner--Subway, yummm!

Way to go Jakob! That is so awesome! I really don't like the report cards, it's just dumb to me! It's sad that the very first thing Luke's teacher wrote was that he has lots of friends! I guess he maybe a little too social like his mom! We really need to get together once we get settled! We will be quite a bit closer!!
